Working with Sandwell Community Caring Trust

Previous experience in care is not essential; the most important qualities we look for in our staff are kindness and understanding. These qualities will be supplemented by a professional comprehensive training package to help all staff become skilled professional Carers.

Carers employed by Sandwell undergo a thorough recruitment and induction procedure, part of which is spent working alongside an experienced member of staff. All carers receive recognised ongoing social care training and updates.

You will be encouraged to undertake a Level 2 or 3 NVQ training in health and social care. Individual client-specific training is arranged for carers if the care to be supplied is particularly complex.

There are career pathways within SCCT for those who wish to advance their career. All training is funded by SCCT.
